Special Lecture “IT for blind students”

Prof. Dr. Srisakdi Charmonman, CEO of the College of Internet Distance Education of Assumption University and Prof. Dr. Utumporn Jarmonmann, COO of the College of Internet Distance Education invited 12 students from blind schools accompanied by two blind instructors to a special training “IT for blind students” at Srisakdi Charmonman IT Center, Assumption University of Thailand (Bang Na campus) on August 28th, 2005.

Prof. Dr. Srisakdi Charmonman opened this special class with a speech about the technology for blind people.
A. Ekachai Jaroenchaimongkol and A. Jatupol Nutatong, blind instructors from Thai National Institute for the Blind conducted the training for the blind students. In this class, Internet technologies for the blind and JAWS, the screen reading program, were emphasized. After completing this one-day course, the students know how to search for information from the Internet, correspond through e-mail, and listen to all kinds of multimedia content in which they are interested.
